Hello, I just overclocked for my first time on my prehistoric pc.

My specs:

i7-950 (Increased from 3.0 to 3.8)
CPU-Cooler is Hyper 212 EVO // Thermal Paste is Arctic Cool MX-2
asus sabertooth x58
g. skill pi series 6 gb 1600
nvidia gtx 660
Evga 750 g2

I don't really know what I'm looking at/for but I took pictures of my changed bios settings, HWmonitor, and CPU-Z.

Can someone go through the pictures and let me know if it all checks out or if I should change something?

Should I be worried about the temps?

I'm going to run prime95 while I go do some errands, if it all goes smoothly how much farther do you think I can push it safely?

Few tips:

Search this forum for overclock info and guides

And IIRC if you press F12 whil IN your BIOS, I think it takes printscreens (on usb stick or something) so you can upload those

Can't help for the rest, but I came across your thread because a buddy of me has i7 920 and needed some advice

Oh yeh, his 920 went 80-90 degrees constantly when encoding movies... it throttled down or even shutdown quite a few times (stock intel cooler, NOT overclocked)

He went for same cooler as I did. Never hit more than 50C NOT overclocked for same jobs on PC

So your safe until 65C 24/7 and 75 stress testing...

yeah that stock cooler is pretty awful. If your voltages don't increase dramatically then you should be fine pushing it higher as long as you keep it below 65 or right around there
