ASUSTek is on the verge of releasing a graphic user interface (GUI) BIOS for all users of the P5Q motherboard series. The new type of BIOS called an Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) makes the transition from an older keyboard driven environment to something so much more appealing and easier to use. At this stage it doesn’t add any extra features except stylish good looks, but for those users who have been afraid of delving into the BIOS, now is your chance, especially if you feel comfortable in a Windows environment.

I hope Gigabyte does something like this soon, I would love this on my mobo. I think MSI has EFI too.
Well, looks like I know what I'm to be trying soon, can't wait to see how good it actually is.
Wow. Looks so much better than your run-of-the-mill BIOS GUIs. It's probably not a big deal, but I'm sold on this.

Not appealed. It's just a facelift really :/

I feel comfortable enough in the current bios. And keyboard is faster then mouse. ^^
Is this only for P5Q Deluxe?

If they offer something revolutionary that current bios'es can't do. I'll buy into it.

But sadly.. I bet you P5Q with EFI will cost more then regular P5Q tho

Looks like there's a free download but it might be just the beta.

I'm surprised the size of the bios hasn't changed!

The BIOS already does everything it should do, what more can be done?

The face lift looks great imo.

Be sure to read the rest of the thread. Many problems are occuring.
err, isn't EFI a completely different chip and method of booting compared to a BIOS? In any case, i like the simplicity of the good old BIOS.

Yes it is, well sorta. EFI=/= BIOS. I was just about to ask the same thing, whether this is actually EFI or just a GUI BIOS.

so it's just a bios which looks like an EFI. Lulz. Yes, i know that's all the article stated it's going to be, but it seems sort of stupid to make it look like something with none of the features.

Everything is saying P5Q Deluxe. Will this work on my P5Q-E?
