Fix for shoddy Creative software?

518 Views 11 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  GeNjii-
Are there any fixes out for Creative's absolutely GARBAGE software?
10 minutes ago marked the 5th time that my computer has spontaneously shut down and restarted, with my audio software as the cause (according to Windows).
Does anyone know of a fix for this BS? I'm running the most current software for the Extreme Gamer card.

First of all, never install drivers that come on disks....99% of the time they are outdated or old.

Second, download the standalone drivers from Creatives website. They work perfectly fine with no issues (I have XP), and thats all you need.

Dont blame Creative....blame Vista 64.

Yeah lets blame M$ because Creative can't make drivers to save their business.
Just in case you weren't aware, Creative makes the drives for Vista 64...

Sorry, that was a big oversight on my part... I just switched to a X-Fi Platinum recently. As for the drivers, I used the latest from the site and have not had any problems with my system... yet.

Blame neither.

Unless you're using old Drivers, then the problem is something else on your system. It's not Creative nor is it Vista. I have 64bit ultimate and the same sound card and I don't get any blue screens.

Check your anger is warrented before you have an embarassing outburst.

You are an extremely abrasive person. When Windows tells me that my BSOD was caused by my "audio software", I will go and tend to blame whomever made my audio software. Oh look Shin, it's Creative!

Back on topic, I am running the standalone drivers from their website. On a third install of them..
