Yeah, i didn't know for sure, did you see the before pic of my GPU cooler though? It's not even a machined surface, just straight out a mold. I still have one more cooler to do now! I'm going to do my chipset also, not this crappy asus fan though, thinking about a custom heatpipe for it, the AC6 cooler fan sits right above it so i can't put a taller cooler on it.
My CPU cooler was way worth it! When I first started sanding it, i could see a low spot in the middle, so it wasn't exactly flat to the CPU.

ya i lapped my vga cooler with 400grit paper cuz thats all i had, it was a molded heatsink and it wasnt very flat either... but how are you gonna setup a heatpipe cooler on your northbidge? i would like to know this...

Ya, 2500 grit paper was the highest I could find, it was at an autobody paint store also, home depot only had up to 600 grit. 2500 grit and you almost don't need to polish it, it had a reflection, the polish just was the icing on the cake for the pics.

Well i just had a couple thoughts on it, still need to make a sketch of it and figure some things out. I don't have anymore time tonight to go into it, so i will do some figuring and post something at a later date.

Yeah, I'm going to attempt to make a custom heatpipe for it, since nothing will fit beneath the VGA cooler.
