Contact Microsoft though xbox.com to send your console out and have it fixed. However if you want to do it by yourself I'm sure that there are other people that can help you.

Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesnt. it all depends on if your lucky enough

sorry zulli i think you have the wrong impression

i'm thinking of buying a rrod 360 and fixing it
Here is a great guide/video. It gave me several more months with my 360 before it was really done, which is no surprise cuz it was a launch console. http://www.i-hacked.com/content/view/263/85/

You are? Your OP has no indication of buying them, mind editing it mate? It only ask if they are easy to fix.

EDIT: Now that I read it a few times over, I can see how it aims towards wanting to buy them. My bad.

it can be easy but i depends on what error code you get some you cant fix.
It's not hard, but it's not permanent. It's a lost cause and buying one to fix just takes more time and will fail in the end. Believe me I'm in every single one of these RROD threads. The simple answer is don't want your time and just buy a new one.
Use these videos and tutorials, I used them.

I do not own a console but from what I have read this sounds like a failed solder connection(must be a sign of the times I get failed solder connections in the gauge clusters of the trucks at work all the time) and if it is wouldn't it be easier to just reflow the solder in an oven?

That's the only somewhat permanent solution but not many people understand how to do that. The "bake" method is a small portion of that by heating the solder up to rebond it, but it's nowhere near as good of a fix as reflowing the solder.

unless Microsoft is using some super low heat solder I don't think your GPU is going to get hot enough to reflow it.
I have used solder that can be sweated in to a wire with a lighter but it is a
weak connection and if the GPU can heat it to the flow point what is to stop it from doing it again when you are gaming and screwing everything up again
My son in law has a 360 no RROD yet but he did have a heat issue for a while
I told him to get the thing out of his entertainment center so it could breath
and the heat issue was gone

True, but there are reports of the solder being reflowed and it has fixed the errors. There are too many variations between the failures to know what's working and what's not, but I do know I've seen reports of the solder being reflowed.

nothing is permanent and im sure your going to fix them and try to resale them and that is a very dangers and wrong road to go down
I do not have any and if I was to buy some RROD 360's and was able to repair them I would just link them all together with a hub and let my grandsons play with them
i'm not going to sell it, probably just mod it and keep it, maybe mod some fans

Why not put a water block on it and not ever worry about the heat again?
