Folding on i7 740QM (mobile)

My sister has a laptop that she said was fine to fold on so I am. Its clocked @ 1.7GHz and I currently have 2 smp clients running on it, each setup to accept big WUs and fold on 3 cores/threads. Its currently folding P6968 @ 1441 PPD with a TPF of 16min28sec on one of the clients. Does this seem accurate?

It seems slow to me but I could be wrong. My ASUS all in one fold rig (e5400 @ 2.5GHz) is crunching a P6041 @ 1742 PPD.

Anyone fold smp on the 740QM? Probably the only thing it can do, I dont know if it could complete a bigadv within the preferred deadline...

Why have 2 SMP clients? Why not just one?
No one can give you definitive answers on what kind of PPD you will get etc though.
Make sure the temps aren't going through the roof.
2 > 1 haha. It seems I can get nothing better than 1500pt projects no matter how many cores/threads used to I split 6 cores/threads among 2 clients
I dont think it can finish bigadv within deadlines as an 950 @ 3.4 is sort of tight on the deadline, but I'm sure folding 8 threads on SMP would give nice ppd

Also, y not use 1 client folding on 8 threads?
I still don't think it's beneficial of having 2 clients running.
Jut run one.

QFT.

Two clients often make it worse.
OK. I will give it a try. As far as running 8 threads...its my sis's lappy and Im not going to work her pc @ 100% and screw with her programs and games for my sake.
Programs, she shouldn't have a problem. Since [email protected] is a low priority program.
Gaming on the other hand, that's where she would find problems.
And game she does lol. So I switched to 1 client with -smp 7 and -advmethods...currently on P6961 averaging 7m45s/frame @ 4490 PPD =) a little better
Why is it only getting 7K? Are you using HFM?
If so, show your bonuses. I doubt you're only getting 7K.
I was getting 6-7000 PPD with my 740QM. The GTX 460M at 1600 shaders gets ~8000 PPD. I tried bigadv and was short on making the preferred deadline by about 10-15 minutes per frame.
