folding questions

so i just finally started folding, and i left my comppy on last night to do some, and i saw i was getting like 800 ppd for like 8 hours of folding. Is this right for 2 9600gt's in sli? doesn't seem right to me, take note that im a folding nub, so handle with ease, i just need to know what i might be doing wrong here.

Yes. You are folding with the CPU client. Not the GPU client.

Go grab this one. Unzip it and run it from the folder you unzip it to.

You'll need to configure it with your name. Team (37726) and fill in all the other details.

I'm not an SLI expert but I think I read where you can't run the GPU2 client in SLI.

But, this will definitely score you more points. http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandeg..._Vista-623.zip

well yes as Jade said, you're running the regular CPU client, the weakest of all folding clients.

for your PC I'd suggest the SMP client and 2 GPU2 Clients (if you disable SLi) you should output about 12-15kppd

look around this forum section for the guides that you'll need

BTW disabling sli just means doing it in the Nvidia control panel not actually removing the bridge. My wife's single 9600GT averages about 2.2k Points per day, so you should get around 4.4K probably better as her's is the crappiest 9600GT you can get Gateway/MSI.

Also, make a dummy plug and extend the desktop to the "analog monitor" which shows up, the dummy plug.

Linky on dummy plug Anything from 68 to 200 ohms will work.

Edited to add: BTW thank you for starting to fold.

Can you post a screenshot of your Fahmon. Did you put your username and team 37726 into the client?

You haven't completed your first work unit (WU) yet. The CPU one is only at 56% it will show up here or here after you get a few WU's submitted. Not sure about the viewer for the single core client as I have never used it. But FahMon is tracking progress.

Right click the protein and hit log file you should see the progress there.

Ah cool, just saw your post!
