Hey everyone just looking through the site and had some questions, never heard of this before, So what is it really doing? is just seeing how proteins assemble themselves. in like new bornes or at any age. Can you watch it do this or is it all done in source code type of way. well just checking it out to see what it is about. thanks James.

You can watch it, slows performance but you can. This is on the single CPU client and GPU clients.

It helps figure how protiens misfold, which is the cause of many disease such as alzhiemer and some cancers!

Here's a pretty good idea of what folding is.

Good read. If your interested come back and we can help you get that machine folding. There are also a few tribute threads as to why some of us fold. There is a link in my sig to one of my favorites.

Enjoy!

Ill start folding as soon as i can get internet or can you do it off line, right now im using a laptop, at a free wifi, but it pretty limited to what i can do, can download much, but it does the basics.Ive had grandparent that had alzhiemer and ive had several family members die from cancer.
i just started a few days ago, its pretty cool, join team OCN!
Watching folding is pretty useless. It's just a bunch of red, white and blue balls floating around and going blip.
