Foobar2000 vs WMP

I love Windows Media Player. I love how effortless it is to maintain a neat playlist. And I love the search bar.

However, Foobar2000 + Noise sharpening absolutely owns it where it counts: audio playback.

I was just wondering if anyone has any tips how how to organize ones playlist so it doesn't look so messy.

Heck, if it would just organize things the way I already have them in their folders it would be great. Right now, it isn't even putting songs in numerical order for each album.

Thanks.

I use Itunes, works great. Neatest media player.

Foobar is a mission to organise.
It is nice that VLC can play anything, and I do use it as last resort, but Foobar2000 just has unbelievable audio quality and customization options.
One of the pros to using WMP (or Winamp, or any other DirectShow-based player) is that you can use ffdshow to decode the audio, and in turn you can use its many audio filters like the Crystallizer and Freeverb.

VLC and foobar2000 can't use DirectShow, so you're screwed on that regard. VLC IMO is horrible for video and I don't really see it as a music player. I mean, you can play audio with any video player, but that's not what they're made to do...

foobar2000 lets you keep tons of loaded playlists which is a very nice feature imo

Tell me more about ffdshow. How do I set it up?
