I bet all the people talking about how wrong it is are just pissed they had the code and didn't use it in time, or didn't realize they could use it multiple times.
EA messed up. We didn't do anything wrong because we were using their own code. Put the ability in people's hands to get free software that is usually rather expensive and 99/100 people are going to do it. I'll admit I'm too weak to resist free games. I think many other people are obviously willing to admit that as well. There's nothing wrong with using what we were given in a way that the company itself allowed it to be used.
I had the code; I used it once, to buy one game. They didn't allow it to happen. You exploited a loop hole in their check out security. This is the same as walking out of Best Buy with several hundreds of dollars worth of goods without paying for it because the cash register wouldn't ring it up.
So...

And not all education systems even require those classes. Pretty much only the US does and I am 100% certain it is for no other reason than to increase the size of student loans...along with all the other stupid fluff classes that my foriegn educated colleges laugh at because they did not have to take them.
A "consumer" is expected to "consume" as much as they possibly can for the lowest cost. Just like a supplier is expected to supply as little as possible for the highest price possible. The balancing of the two is what drives business. There are no social ethics involved...just two opposing forces. If a consumer can get something for free they are expected to take advantage of it. If a supplier can get paid for not supplying anything then they are expected to do so. THAT is business ethics and if it were not this way...well, we would be living in Startrek without money.
No.
You obviously need the classes.
Please tell me why insurance fraud and shop lifting is illegal if 'consumer ethics are thrown out. "
People trying to justify stealing just shows you how poor the moral standard is today.
