FPS Lagg with Good Graphics Card

938 Views 8 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  NKGENERATION
Hey guys, I have a 256 MB ATI Radeon 9550 Sapphire Graphics card.
I have the latest drivers and stuff for it. But, when I play halo 1 online, I get FPS lagg on VSYNC and NO VSYNC (but more on the NO VSYNC). You cant really play competitively if its on VSYNC, so every1 basically has it on NO VSYNC. I dont know why because my friend has a worse and cheaper gfx card than me, and he can play fine on high res and with 100+ FPS. My FPS fluctuates CONSTANTLY and i get this lagg especially during intense scenes. Once in a while it has just frozen. I dont know if it has something to do with RAM, cuz i have only 1 gigs ram. Im thinking thats inadequate compared to my gfx card?
-Thanks in advanced

well disk cleanup takes forever, like i put it overnight and it was like 1/6 done lol
idk abt disk defrag
would that help more?
What operating system do you have? XP, Vista, Windows 7? Have you tried turning the settings down in Halo? Also, defragmenting would help a lot.
