Free DVD rip and burn programs?

1297 Views 23 Replies 16 Participants Last post by  shyune123
I've tried Trials from Nero and Inter video, but my trials have expired and to be honest I didn't think much of the programs.

I would like your opinions of what the best free DVD rip and burn programs are to use. I'm mostley copying videos from the webs, so HDD to DVD is essential to me.

I've used others aswell, but had issues with converting files into compatible formats. So if there's noob proof software for free that gives good results please tell me.

Thanks guys and girls.

I'd hope none of those "videos from the webs" contain copyrighted data since that would be both illegal and against the ToS...
No copyrighted, mainly I'm burning old school sci fi movies that have been released into the public domain. Also free comedy programs and BBC shows. Not selling them or anything

If anyone could be helpful I'd love it.

DVD rip is for DVD to HDD... just take a second to read "DVD rip"...

There are legal DVDs that are free to duplicate, especially if you own them.

Handbrake is the best open-source DVD ripper available.

Thanks Halifax!

How about burning programs?
Use ConvertXtoDVD. There is nothing better.

...?

I was saying he's using the wrong term. He wants to make a DVD, not rip a DVD.

I have been using DVD flick...it works just remember to go into the options and click on the box that says burn to dvd.
Thanks I'm trying out AVS DVD tools right now.
DVD Shrink and DVD Flick w/ img burn are good programs.

I use these along with Dvd Flick. They will do almost anything you would ever need for ripping and burning.

I'm still using AVS converter and burning tools.

It would be great if they weren't trial only based apps though.

If there's anyone who knows where to get a decent free program (doesn't have to be 1080p quality or anything), then please say so.

Cheers!
although it's no longer developed, i swear by dvd decrypter for dvd ripping

i use brasero in linux for burning, and nero for windows.... i'm sure someone here has some other alternatives you could try
