Those are acutally good deals, compared to 200$ more for retail. Nice find.

Wait, is S&H estimated at $20? And do you need to buy XP for the free upgrade? You guys remember: stuff is rarely actually free, especially if it's from Microsoft.

If I understand right, you buy XP now, and you get a voucher to buy Vista when it comes out.

it looks to me like u get winxp, and then u get the vista UPGRADE cd, not a retail version of vista....

which means that u have to install winxp all the time and then install vista over it. :X

Wonder if you're going to be able to upgrade your home w/o buying their new os.

Looks like this deal is if you buy a new computer with whichever operating system, you can upgrade it to vista when vista launches for $20 or so (home windows would get the home vista, pro would get the buisness vista)

Vista is the devil.... Either microsoft change its EULA or I will definitely be skipping this OS...

One upgrade... then you have to re-buy vista...

One transfer to another machine... then you have to re-buy vista...

M$ has just lost their minds.

but I suppose if you get it free with XP then you could always run it and go back to XP as soon as you realize that you have to re-install...

No, you just have to have a Windows xp key to punch in when it asks/put the disc in...

that's how it works I think...since it's totally new code.

IMO, and this is completely off the records, if you were to just buy a copy of Windows XP, grab that coupon for Vista, and then fuggetaboutit, you could make your money back finding a buyer for your copy purchased, and use the coupon received for Vista when that particular time comes. Win:win for some, win:lose for others.
