Well I've had this sytem for a good while now(two months) And i've noticed when i start the computer up...I have initial freezes for some reason...for about 5 seconds or so....Then it's fine no problems! I also noticed I'm having lag issues in oblivion (medium settings!!??!!?!?!) I know i should be able to murder oblivion at this point...

I'm thinking it's my ram But i'm unsure of how to test it can anyone help me out here with some quick instructions..

Or of some other possible solutions?

First off, nobody murders Oblivion it's just too demanding/badly optimized or sumthing. Anyway, it can play great one rig and horribly on another identical rig.
As for testing RAM, there's a great software, it's called Memtest86. There's a link in the download section. Once you have it, pop a floppy in and run the .bat file and specify the directory. After that, restart (set boot priority to floppy if you have to) and it should run itself. Leave overnight if you want to be thorough.

Could be a number of things. Ever run HiJackThis? You could even take a screen shot of your taskman to give us an idea of things running on your rig.

go in your bios and check to see if it says your ram is running in duel channel mode.
i once put my ram sticks in wrong slots and it was running single channel ram so when i loaded windows or a game it would take a min b4 the freezing would stop.
I know I've said this a million times, but do you have the dual core patch installed for service pack 2 as well as the amd cpu driver?
