Hey guys once again.
My friend is getting a new PC this Christmas and we have pretty much picked out the parts but not too sure on the mobo and ram.
He has a budget that is strictly $140 shipped.

So far we have picked out these parts off the egg
Case- Antec 300
CPU- Phenom II 965 BE
PSU- Corsair TX 650
HDD- WD Caviar Blue 500gb
GPU-EVGA 512-P3-1150-TR GeForce GTS 250 512MB
Mobo (is this good?)-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128392
Ram- Unknown
2x 120 mm cooler master R4 blue led fans

So right now its at $650 shipped with out ram
so we want to bring that to $740 shipped
he will use stock heat sink for now and upgrade later.

We just need help with the motherboard and ram and maybe squeeze in a better gpu

He is pretty much dead set on all the other parts.
He can change the cpu to a AMD phenom II x4 955 BE

thanks for the help and as always

If hes getting the 965, then he must be into overclocking, in which case your mobo will cost $160 or more (for a mobo thats good at overclocking). If hes not into overclocking, drop down to the 955, get a good gigabyte board, and some g.skill ripjaws ram.

keep in mind that ddr2 is almost the same cost as ddr3 right now so it'd be a wast of money to get a ddr2 mobo.

AMD phenom II x4 955 3.2Ghz - 165.99

ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard - 99.99

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1866Mhz ram - 94.99 - $1 more than the 1600Mhz version but you get 233Mhz more!

Antec 300 - 54.95

corsair Tx 650watts - 99.99($10 MIR)

MSI TwinFrozr 1G OC GeForce GTS 250 1GB - 144.99 - I used the extra money in the budget to get this GTS 250. I have read good things about it. It has 1Gb of Gmemory(good for high resolutions) and the custom gpu cooler heeps the card's temps down and is good voer overclocking

2 x COOLER MASTER R4 120mm blue LED case fans - 19.96

TOTAL - $736.85
