What's with all the price drops?

The price drop is due to the up coming release of the P2 945 which is theAM3 version of the 940.

yeah if the am3 version is close in price itll be the chip to get. I wouldnt build a am2 rig from scratch this late in the game. The 940 is great for people upgrading though.

Hmmm... TweakTown did a comparison between DDR2 and DDR3 on an AM3 mobo and didn't find much performance benefit to DDR3.

Tempting. And there's a Fry's within walking distance... just around the corner from AMD headquarters...
