You will NOT find a better deal for these, or any comparable floor standing speakers. These speakers are long discontinued and replaced by CF series (inferior to the RC series). Yes these are the RC-70s, top of the line Energy speakers back in the day!

I have been wanting a pair of RC-70s, but they are so rare and extremely hard to find. Just so happens that I am dead broke. So fellow OCNers, cash in on my misfortune!

To put into context... The RC-70s are essentially on par with the Veritas 6.3. The Veritas sell for 1 grand a piece. A few even prefer the RC-70s.

Tough call. If you have equipment for SPL, frequency graphs and know exactly what you are going for, then your build may be comparable.

I bought these for $1k for the pair on Vanns.com in 2009 which was half price. At that price they were a steal. This price is just crazy. For music and home theater they are sublime. Very smooth and have a slightly warm sound signature.

This is an awesome deal!

I own the "inferior" CF-70s and while yes they were cheapened down a bit and still cost around $500 each... Energy speakers sound incredible! If I didn't already have my set, I'd totally go for these.

You can also match them with LCR center, which is the superior center from the same line.

How much better are they than my Klipsch wf35 would you say its worth a no question buy or not significant enough to warrant the purchase. Might pick it up tomorrow.

Never heard them so I wouldn't know. I think Frys changed it to pick up only now. No shipping,

The RC-70s gives you a slice of high end audio. I don't think the Klipsch speaker can offer that. Once again, I don't know enough about the Wf 35. They do look really NICE though, the finish on the Klipsch looks very impressive.

How I wish I was back in CA. These would have been bought up like that....assuming fry's isn't just setting fake prices to lure people into their stores again.

The Klipsch definitely looks better aesthetically compared to the Rc-70's but since I got the wf from Klipsch for the same price these are going for now seems like a tough deal. Looking at reviews the rc-70's do get higher praise but direct comparisons are hard to find. Will need more research before the jump.
