Its a shame then that Asus prices for high end P55 motherboards are way too high.
Might of bought one as well

Shame most of the features on these boards are pretty situational, I haven't needed to use any of the extras on the M3F, maybe I should've gone for a cheaper model, meh.

Yeah true, though its a shame they are. Almost certainly because of the 1156 limitation on pci-e lanes, forcing board makers into buying the N200 chip from Nvidia to suplement them.

Pretty much every board within reach of the "normal" user has to do with either X8 X8, or more likely X16 X4!
