hey, ive tried to overclock over 260mhz fsb, but twhen i did it would fail prime,IF I GOT IN WINDOWS, but it would mostly say there was some corrupted file i had to fix, but then after i did a recovery all was well, is there a max for the fsb speed on a mobo or what? my temps are all sub 48c and i have agp/pci at 66/33, and i was running plenty ov voltage to cpu, and i had a 5:4 divider on my ram.... so whats causing all the crap to go wrong? i just got done reinstalling windows cuz is screwed something up!

Try to see what the Mobo max is.

You could also be hitting your HT Max

OCing is more than just temps. I am sure the BT is helping as it is keeping your CPU cool, having a max load of 47c is damn good and I wouldn't be complaining With temps that low, the only thing holding you back is likely your board or your CPU........

I can understand your frustration, but getting angry while working on computers is a BAD idea......take deep breaths, don't just throw anything away!

At the very least, you can sell your current set up to someone who would be happy with that OC and you can buy all new stuff to go higher........

I would guess its just the limit on your board. On my 875P-T if I went any farther than 263 my windows would get corrupt like your experiencing. Good old intel

I'm in the same spot.
Just got a new cooler, getting great temps.
Gained some speed but...
Getting close but no cigar; it just won't break 4Ghz.

My goal is the same as yours, eh?
We are here beacuse of that.

Overclock it or smoke it

thanks guys.... i geuss its just the limits of the board.... but ive never had this problem before!!!! ive done suicide runs of over 4.1 ghz before and nothing got corrupt, it would just reboot from the extreme temps at the time...so i dont see why its not working now, i think i would atleast be able to do a few runs over 4ghz like i could before!!! what happened, i didnt change anything.... ***?
