Multiple sources now claim that Nvidia has promised to ship Fermi in January time. We are talking about Fermi, the GPU that is expected to defeat ATIs Radeon 5000 offering. To make it more clear, January is the time when you can hope to buy a graphic card based on Fermi.

I remain skeptical

Very... umm... succinct.
...But good news altogether, if it is.

I believe you! in Jan, ot will be Feb, then March etc etc.

Keep making people believe it is just around the corner and hope they hold off on ATI

Isn't Fudzilla basically Nvidia's marketing arm? If not it sure seems that way.

Anyway, I am HIGHLY skeptical of this news. Nvidia has proven themselves to be liars, time and time again.
Even 003 said Febuary/March, if even the fanboys don't believe this... Well, hahaha.

No need to hope. With these ATI shortages they are doing a better job than Nvidia in keeping the product away from consumers.

Is that supposed to be an ATI jab? If so you fail horribly. The fault lies with the fab making the chips, their yields are only 40%. They need to work out the bugs in their process before ANYBODY, Nvidia OR ATI are going have wide availability of 40nm gpu's.

Sweet.

Sounds like the A3 silicon was all that Nvidia was looking for and more.

Nvidia just can't make up their mind about the release date, can they?

I would be shocked if it launches in January, actually. A pleasant kind of shocked, but shocked none the less. Jen-Hsun Huang has already stated Fermi will launch in the fiscal Q1 10, which spans from January 26th to April 26th, and I place a lot of weight on that statement. I just don't see it being probable to launch in that 4 day window.

Unless of course things have changed for the better since then? Oh and to the OP way to make a thread biased. Posting news about a potential earlier launch of Fermi and you mark it with a thumbs down? Not to mention that "supposedly" in the thread title is not actually part of the article title.
i propose this is the one thread 003 may actually be remotely reasonable in.

now, to test this: instead of them not making up their minds, maybe they're still unsure as to when it will actually be ?

iirc, ati stated they released the 5970 in correlation with TSMC fixing their yields. maybe, seeing as fermi is on the 40nm process too, they've managed to increase their fermi yields as well.

the Q1 2010 was an estimate with the old yields and predicted increase levels, and this new one is with the new yields/predicted increase levels ?
nVidia are going to fail so badly! As soon as Fermi will be released ATi are bringing out a brand new card anyway. NVidia is falling behind so badly!

Yes....because it would be horrible to have a biased OP. Guess that means you won't be posting news any more. I can count the number of articles you've posted in ATi's favor on zero hands. And seriously, your title says Nvidia enthusiast, you have a picture of a CEO as your avatar, and you defend Nvidia as if everything they touch turns to gold. You calling this guy biased is the pot calling the kettle black...

All of that being said, I actually agree the original post has bias in it. I just couldn't believe you were calling someone out on that.

I think the news is a load of rubbish/lies/Fudzilla wanting hits.
If you have a problem with that don't post in it. Any yet I posted it playing right into their hands...................... One wonders

Jen-Hsun Huang also said the woodscrew card was a working card, did you place a lot of weight in that also? Placing a lot of weight in the paperweight WERE YA?

I DO have Nvidia Cards yet I am a hater? Not biased in the slightest, I just think this is a Nvidia tactic
