Economic decline strikes again

What might be some of the most unfortunate news to start off the week is the fact that Nvidia has decided to cancel its NVISION 2009 convention in order to reduce costs, according to the company.

Last year, NVISION was introduced as the world's largest visual computing mega event and took place between August 25th and 27th at the San Jose Convention Center in California. The show sought to define the visual computing space of the IT industry and provided many compelling examples from various worldwide small business and large corporations alike.

Nvidia originally planned to hold NVISION 2009 again in Q3, but has revealed that the economic decline reduced the number of attendees considering visiting the show this year. On another note, the company added that it will still host several smaller forums this fall.

I wanted to go, never could cause I was in the Navy looks like I have to wait a little bit longer

Well duh they are going to tell what people to buy but is not just that. It is seeing new products coming out, meeting new people and gaming all in one place

This is happening everywhere. Sis's Las Vegas convention was cancelled, too. Everyone is pinching pennies.

It's more than that. It's about learning about new products and networking. I've met so many new people that I talk to a lot now from large LAN parties like PDXLAN and NVISION.

But, I guess for me, I do it for the case modding and meeting those people. Still, it's the most fun I've had gaming.

Ouch. Normally I would use this for a sarcastic jab at Nvidia but this just sucks, I was loosely planning on attending.

nVidia needs to be laying low and staying quiet. I read they have many bills going unpaid. Although i would have like to gone, this is for the best.
Nothing fancy to show off this year, then?

That was my thought. Nothing so exciting that they needed a convention to kick it off with anyways.

lol good, all they'd do is tell you the've renamed EVEN MORE of their past GPUs. Wouldn't have been a smart move on their part.

Imaging...
9AM: We're renaming the G80 core to 9700 GT

10AM: We're renaming the 9700GT to GTX 235

11AM: We're out of ideas....plz buy our NEW cards!
