One thing is finally clear. The Geforce GTX 480 specification is locked at this time and Nvidia works hard to ship as many card for its planned launch on 26th US/ 27th Europe. We already told you that it might be all the way to April 6th before you are able to buy the card but today we have the whole specification.

Makes sense. The delta between the GTX 470 and GTX 480 TDP seemed too big to be true IMO. 225 and 250W respectively sounds a lot better.

500W on the GPUs, 250W left for the rest of the system. I'd say yes, but it would start cutting it close.

It's a great PSU.

Yeah you should be fine. That PSU is very strong.

250w of heat is alot of heat to dissipate. The 28w difference won't mean much. For reference, a GTX 295 has a TDP of 289w and a HD4870x2 has a TDP of 250w

TDP != Actual Power Usage

GPU's usually have higher TDP's than what they actually consume.

TDP and power consumption aren't the same. TDP is thermals, not power

But they also don't want to spend a ton on the cooler. You ability to OC is costing them money, so costing you money. Wonder if this is going to be the standard cooler or not.
