hmmm I really don't pay too much attention to those details, so I can't say... I remember at the end of half life you could see yourself.

Pretty sure games using the source engine don't animate legs in first person mode.

May I ask why?

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, very good fun game too.

F.E.A.R + it's expansions you can look down an see your legs.

I don't understand why first person shooters wouldn't show the legs of the protagonist.
All it is, is a camera whose position in 3D-space is constrained to the head of the character.
When artists create the visuals for a FPS where the player can only see the arms/hands/weapon, they are choosing the cheap way out, they're faking it because they don't wanna model the whole body of the character.

I think you can see them in Deus Ex maybe? It's been a while since I played it.
