Hey all,

Recently got done building my new gaming desktop with a hardline custom loop and i was thinking of doing a nice looking home server to sit right next to it.

Would prefer a tower style case but the cube ones id consider as well (no 4u rackmount servers though).

Only real requirement is that it has to hold at least 7x 3.5" Drives (prefer 8+ though).

As an example, i was looking at something practical like a Fractal Design Define XL R2 or the SilverStone Case Storage Series SST-CS380 but then i was thinking it might be nice to do something with a window (maybe even water cooled, or at least an AIO) in something like https://www.newegg.com/black-therma...rgb-edition-atx-super-tower/p/N82E16811133367 but i would want the build to be clean and at least for me hiding 8+ SATA cables and SATA power cables can get messy without the right case.

Thoughts?

Have you looked at the Define R5? I believe it still holds the record for holding the most number of 3.5" drives in a case made by Fractal. And it can be had with a see through side panel if you prefer.

I actually used to own the R5 for one of my older servers, i wouldnt rule it out but i found the back panel got pretty crowded with all the SATA and SATA power cables hiding them in the back panel.
