HAHA! two hundred eighty freaking eight!! wouldnt a piece of toast in ur AGP slot perform better? x)

with my overclocked x850xtpe i get 7k in 3dmark05, lets say a 7800GT stock would be about 7.5 to 8k? trust me, theres a big world out there and you need good graphics to view it all ;D

Compare the CPU score and imagine what a new graphic card could do to your system:

Even with my ancient Socket-A I can still run any game.

Put it this way. With my system at 3.7ghz, 1:1 and an overclocked fx5500 256meg, my aquamark score was 11 000. By doing nothing but replacing the 5500 with a stock 6800GT, the score went to 67 000! You will not believe the difference!

Yea, basically that 11k you were getting was probably all CPU score. I believe that Transonic got a 7 for a 3Dmark05 score with his super old FX-5200.

Off topic but, bigV, you should get the Asus P5WD2-Prem over the Abit Fatal1ty AA8XE board.

Holy crap... my old GeForce4 MX 440 scored higher than that on Aquamark... It couldn't run 3DMark05.

so a 6800gt/7800gt is the way to go then im gessing, how much marks do u think ill get all togther ?? my cpu has good marks over 11,000 ,i wounder what a 7800gt overclocked would get me
+ im updating my mobo as well to a dfi so 2.6/2.7 ghz coming my way and prob another 7800gt next year when they are like £80 lol run them in sli with 40 pipelines
sounds good even though the new 7900 and 1900xt have 48 on the one card
but they cost to much to buy £400 or somthing like that £150 is my max that i would spend on the 7800gt so im wating until it drops miby may/june
thanx guys

My 6800XT was 130 euro (only 90 pounds) and the Asus one is almost 100% guaranteed to unlock .. but ehm this is of course the AGP version I speak of.
