Probably is bad unit if you can't set to work.
I experienced something similar with MX Master but he was not gaming mouse.

But purchase Logitech G900 brand new for 90 euro was great investment.
From teasers and reviews I never expected he will be so good mouse.
I believe G Pro Wireless is maybe even better and probably your sample have some issue.

@JackCY its happening in both wired and wireless

whats weird is that plugging in my g403 sorts it so i'm wondering if its windows related or just a bad unit at this point just cant have a 150$ paperweight sitting around

Are you using that "G HUB" software from Logitech? I've seen people complain about it and write that it's not good to have it running (but I don't remember details).
