The title says it all..

Got my new system up and running with G.Skill 2x1Gb Hz PC-6400 Ram...but my system detects it as PC-5300 Dual Channel Interleaved...

Ive read that sometimes you need to force the board to the correct speed..

I just want to make sure i do it right...anybody else have this happen or that can help me out?

start running the FSB and ram speeds up at the same time, keeping em in 1:1
That RAM's supposed to be a monster... i'm looking to grab some myself soon!
Let us know how it goes!
Edit: For example: 266FSB =533Dram, 320FSB = DRam640

WElcome to the Forum BTW!

Im sorry..maybe i didnt emphasize how newbie i am to OCing(not PC's)...

Care to put all that into simpler to understand instructions?

What should i be looking for in the BIOS?

I found the Timings section...by disabling the RAM by SPD thing..but i see nowhere to mess with the FSB. And the "Slot voltage" doesnt actually have numbers..juts Auto, Lighter, Light, Normal, Heavy, Heavier or something like that..

k first,

fill out your system specs. Go to User CP (up at the top), go to edit system specs and fills out your system. After knowing what you have, then and only then can i help you further

They are listed as 4-4-4-12...

Go to bios and do the following

go to manual overclocking and set

set FSB to 333mhz
Set DRam to 666Mhz
Set vcore to 1.35
set vdimm to 2.1
all others auto

sounds good now we have somewhere to start
Enter your bios and locate all the things you think you might need, look around, get comfortable with it before you change anything. first time in the bios is enough to scare anyone.
locate things like:
FSB, HTT, Multiplier, Ram timings, ratio/dividers anything that looks familiar and might be useful
once you've done that, then you can bump your FSB up by like 5, then go ahead and start it up (posting and then booting)
then....
Congratulations! you're now an overclocker!!!

Don't forget to lock you're PCI and PCI express speeds!!

you will start to notice as you overclock it higher that the boot times are faster and windows loads quicker and quicker
What are your settings now?
Edit i should mention so you don't panic:
If you can't post don't freak out cuz you can't ask us here... open up your case and reset your CMOS, that means pull out the battery on your motherboard for about 5 mins, then plug it back in, and everything will be put back to stock settings, then you should be able to boot and start again...
