i have this set in my motherboard with my 1005t and been reading that 1600 with tighter timings would be better than faster speeds and loose timings

i have currenly ran a session of memtest86+ with no errors at 8,8,8,24 at 1.65 volts and came back as ok.
i tried 7 7 7 21 but my computer wouldnt boot so at the moment im running 7 8 8 24 and seeing how that goes.

i did try a quick run at 6 7 8 22 and it posted and worked but will memtest that later.

would these timings be better than the stock ones at 2400 and is there any other stress tests for memory

You wouldn't be able to get DDR3-2400 with your Phenom anyway.
DDR3-1600 is fine, but you might as well try, say, DDR3-1800 to DDR3-1900 with 7-8-8 or 7-9-9 via higher memory dividers (if available) and/or HTT overclocking.

My CPU is multi locked so I have to use the htt.
I might try it at the 8 8 8 24 and she how close I can get to 2000
I decided to try the 6 7 8 22 timings and been running memtest without errors for 25 mins sofar

Passed one hour of memtest. Going try 6 6 8 20
I can't seem to get the 8 to go down any lower

edit left it at the 6 7 8 22 and passed 2hrs of memtest, tried 6 6 8 and no go.
will leave as is and use for a few days to see how it plays

I have the G.Skill Trident X 2400MHz 8GB kit, 2x4GB,

I can only manage 7-7-8-18-20 1T @ 1.55V I can get about 100MHz more but my CPU's Northbridge needs about 1.4V just to keep it running.

I can also do 7-6-8-18-20 1T @ 1600MHz, but the voltages need tinkering to get it stable

EDIT: I can't get the 8 any lower also. Don't think it's going to be any way around it, unless you experiment with a slower RAM speed, try 320FSB for example

6-7-8-22 should be about the lowest that memory kit can go. That is probably the best settings for your CPU.

Yea I tried getting them lower but no go.
I left the voltages at 1.65 and NB to 1.15 n CPU NB at 1.2.
My only other gripe is I don't know y the 8 won't go down

I know my hypers do 6 6 6 18 at 1600 I wonder if I could get them any lower.

All memory IC's are different, mine will do about the same as your TridentX.

My last old DDR3 RAM which was G.Skill Ripjaws, it could only do 7-8-7-24-28 1T and my TridentX can do 7-7-8-18-20 1T, and if I really want to push it, I can do the same timings as yours, and 7-6-8-20-22 1T

Much** different IC chips. Even if you are able to get it down lower, it would have adverse affect on actual perfomance. For the current chips on the market, most will need a higher tRP. The reason tRCD is so low is because the frequency is downclocked, but generally it would be higher for a higher frequency. 6-7-8-22 is lowest

i know there diff ics and diff quality of ram altogether.
im going to leave it at 6 7 8 22 and see if will oc a lil and leave as are.

i think the imc on my cpu is quite good but wouldnt know how to find out. it overclocks nicely with low voltages and temps
3.7 at 1.3v ish does stock at 1.15 n lower

Doubt this is going to go very well with a Phenom X6 IMC, its not as strong as Intel CPU's, this wouldn't work well, but gives us a idea what to try and aim for though
