Will the G80 GPU's fully support DX10? I know that it will be dx10 compatible, but since dx10 will not have been released at the release of the G80 series, I've been wondering if it will fully support DX10 or if it will feature either partial or inefficient dx10 support

It should support DX10 completely.

The G80 100% supports DX10, there were some rumors of the G80 not being fully Shader Model 4.0 compliant but those rumors were laid to rest a while ago. It's kinda sad because in any other conditions the G80 would appear to be a monster but to me it looks like a wimpy frog compared to the R600.

I doub't it remonster. Nvidia will bring out the 8900GTX and it will be the same deal again. And remember, nvidia haven't lost a mid-range battle for a long time...

The G84 is coming out in february (check thread in sig) and it'll stand up fine to the R600.

No doubt it will end up being a close battle in the end, but the G80 (not G84 or any of its successors or anything) is the weaker card when compared to the R600, or atleast according to the best rumors we have available to us.

R600 is expected to have 64 Unified Shaders, be built on an 80nm process, and use GDDR4 like the X1950XTX, now there are conflicting reports regarding its clock speeds, some say it could be up to 1GHz and rumors have it ATI had been testing cores at that speed, but others say it will be around 650 like the current X1900 cards so I don't know about that but the X1950XTX has 2GHz GDDR4 and the R600 will undoubtedly have much faster memory, and probably 512MB of it if not 1GB.

Maybe the G80 will pull the same thing the X1K's pulled as far as having 'odd' specs and still winning out.

I agree with what you are saying, but Ati has 2 months extra development. In terms of sales, I think it may level out. It's the same as the 360/PS3 situation. The G70 is technically inferior to the R500 but the 7900GTX still pulls out some amazing becnhes and still has comparable performance.
