Hi everybody

I just bought a new Computer about 6 days ago

Specs:
Amd Phenom II X6 1090T
XFX Radeon HD 6870 1GB
Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5
1x4GB Corsair Vengeance Ram
Chieftec Nitro series 850W
Cooler Master HAF 922 Midi Tower
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

But when i play a game it locks up and closes the game except for Bad company 2 where i get a White screen and the game crashes. Ive tried switching my graphics card out with a Radeon HD 5770 and it worked fine and afterwards i tried testing the 6870 in my friends computer and it didnt work. Dispite of that it doesnt seem like an hardware problem cuz its not overheating or making any noise and everything looks fine. I have the latest driver from Amd (Amd Catalyst software suite Ver. 8.801) so i dont really know what to do anymore..

Any suggestions is welcome

TY

uninstall all of your drivers and install the newest version of Catalyst Control Center.
My driver version of my 6870 is 8.14.10.0798, Catalyst 10.12

Just because the graphics card doesn't make any noise or is not overheating doesn't mean it doesn't needs to be RMA'd. It's either a drivers issue or I think you answered your own problem.

http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx
Looks like i have the Direct3D ver. 8.14.10.0798 as you mentioned

Everytime it crashes it says that the graphics driver has stopped Responding??? :S

Single channel shouldn't cause problems but would be noticeably slower than dual channel.

Yeah....NO, whats this quad single channel? Providing that the sticks are matching it will be in dual channel mode.
Now reading it again he has 1x 4GB stick so it is in single channel, not a problem just slower than dual.

But personally since you have a spare card just RMA and save the headache, whats the worst that can happen? They just find out that it's not the card and it's just the software, but on the other side you get a new card.

Okay dont know about the vga drivers
And the ram should work fine anyway
how should the PSU make the problems (not enough power?)
and i have foramtted my pc Twice and nothing happened

I have sent it back to where i bought it hoping they will find out whats wrong and if it isnt a dead card then im lost (cuz we tested the card in my friends computer and it still didnt work)

And i have no spare card (dont know if i said that somewhere) so im stuck with my old laptop
