According to BioWare’s Chris Priestly’s post on the game’s official forums. “Even though there is a disc swap, it occurs at a carefully planned place in the game (that does not interfere with gameplay) and is done once,†Priestly explained and then went on to reassure that “You do not swap back and forth. 1 swap and then done.â€
Source.

Interesting, definitely getting this for my PC and hiring it for the 360. (Achievements and I can hire before I buy.
)

Read the article, the 360 has to swap but we just install off both discs.

Who really wants a retail copy of the PC version when EA is publishing with their DRM? Steam is gonna have the best version hands down.

Eugh. For some reason I just don't like swapping disks. Steam ftw on this.
I think steam definately won this one.. i know i don't like swapping disks.
too inconvenient
Yea Steam version is definitely going to be the better version to buy. Funny how something as simple as swapping discs can ruin a moment.
I like having a physical copy of my games along with the box and manual. I'll probably still go with the retail version. It would be great if you could register it on steam like UT3 does though.

The disc swap thing will only affect the Xbox 360 gamers. PC users wont have to change disc in the middle of the game, only while installing.

Yeah reading the comments I was thinking "what the hell? what about a full installation?" It's not like we have 4Gb HDD's anymore lol.

STEAM will have the best version...no swapping disks lol. Now if this was on the PS3 ..no swapping either, but thats not going to happen lol.
Not defending anything here, but retail you may need to swap disk. On the other hand I bet I will be playing it before you get 15% downloaded threw Steam. I will have several achievements before you finish your Steam DL. Also possibly 25% done with the game by the time you are loading your toon from ME1.

Depends if the developers allow players to pre-load the game.

ME2 will have securom on the Disk? WHY? I thought they learned their lesson? Thank god for steam.

EDIT: There is no securom on the disk. I am going for steam any way.

MAJOR LOL at every one who thought pc users would have to change disks... Obviously you guys don't remember installing 4-8 disk games back in the day.

For an example of this, see KOTOR (original release).

Well I hope it is deep in a meaningful way. I think ME1 was far too easy to skip through the MQ in like 4-5 planets.
