I am looking for some help with building a gaming PC in the $500-$700 range. I have a mouse, keyboard, and a 500w power supply and thats it. I am hoping to find something that will play War Z, Day Z stand alone, and Crysis 3 in the 30-60 fps range on medium settings. Of course I know the budget is limited but this is just a starting base for upgrades in the future.. If you could give a list of components and a price for each item that would be great! If you had a product link that would be even better!

A little bit over but should get you great value for your money, overclock your 7870 XT and it'll be level or a little bit slower than a GTX 670!

ok since you said that your budget is for temporary and you will be upgrading next time...try to check this my suggestion...

CPU Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor = $214.99

CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler = $32.98

Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H ATX LGA1155 Motherboard = $127.98

Memory Samsung 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 = $49.99

Video Card Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 1GB = $94.98

Case Thermaltake Commander MS/I Snow Edition (White/Black) ATX Mid Tower Case = $49.99

Total coast = $672.91 -$40(Promo Discounts & Mail-in Rebates) + $11.98(Shipping) = $644.89

you can have a good budget preparation for a better video card in the future but this system can attain your need for crysis 3 (in mid-low settings)...

hope you like it

I doubt a 7750 would be good enough for Crysis 3.

Don't use that power supply, just get rid of it.

It sounds like one of those generic ones, putting a cheap power supply in a computer like this is like using toothpicks as foundations for a skyscraper, it'll come back to bite you in the future; you should NEVER cheap out on your power supply.

Wait OP you need a monitor and operating system as well?

, pretty similar to StayFrosty's suggestion though. You're almost definitely gonna have to go the AMD route if you want to stay in that price range, short of finding someone selling a used Intel CPU/mobo (I'd suggest taking a look around the marketplace, you may be able to find an i5 2500K or something for cheap). Anyways, here goes:

Since I put this together pretty quick, I just found all this stuff on Newegg. You should shop around and try to find deals on these, stuff is always going on sale. Keep an eye out on the major suppliers' sites for their weekly deals and all that stuff. In retrospect, probably shoulda done that more for the rig I'm building. But I digress...

Case: NZXT Source 210 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146076 $40

CPU: AMD FX-4100 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103996 $105

Mobo: MSI 970A-G46 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130637 $80

GPU: MSI R7870 2GB OC http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127722 $220

HD: WD Blue 500GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136769 $60

Memory: 8GB Corsair XMS3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145324 $55

PS: Corsair CX430 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026 $40

CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065 $30

So with the $55 of rebates you're looking at $575 plus tax and shipping. Not too shabby.

Newegg's fancy power supply calculator recommends 426W for this setup so you should be okay, but if you're planning to upgrade with more hard drives and dual GPUs in the future then I'd try to go with something higher, 650 or 700 watts. Aim for something of decent quality like Seasonic, Corsair, Antec, etc.

For gaming, having a more powerful GPU is gonna get you farther than a more powerful CPU, so if you're gonna go big on something then do it there. Not many games are very CPU heavy, so as long as you get something with adequate power then you should be okay. Four cores is plenty for normal gaming use.

If you want to spend some more money you could always upgrade to a better motherboard too, from what I've seen this one doesn't like overclocking a whole lot. But it's also $80. There's a lot of options right about the $100-$125 price point, I'd recommend reading lots of reviews. You can always check out sites like cpubenchmark.net to get some performance/price info if you wanna take a look at other CPU options too. Good luck

Edit: My maths are bad so the total is something like $620 plus tax shipped. And hunt around ebay for monitors
