Hey, welcome to OCN. What country are you in? It'll help pick what site to shop from, but here's a rough one from Newegg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.295700
Phenom II X4 965 C3 and MSI 790FX-GD70 Combo deal

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231303
G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1600 4GB memory (Black Friday Special)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119197
CoolerMaster HAF 922 (Black Friday Special)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371022
Antec TruePower 750W (Black Friday Special)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103055
CoolerMaster V8 CPU cooler (Black Friday Special)

What's left is a DVD burner, which doesn't really matter, you can choose any (I'd pick a 22x SATA burner though), a hard drive (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-319-_-Product great drive, great price, but out of stock unfortunately), and that leaves you with around $300 for a video card.

I suggest the ATI Radeon HD 5850 for the $300 but it's also out of stock.

Yes what currency are you talking about?
If $1000 USD go for an i5 or i7.
And a HD5850.

As mentioned above there are tons of Black Friday specials everywhere.
yes 1000$, thanks for the replies

i have a laptop now, Lenovo g410

but it does not support my gaming needs
Ok, do you care to much about how big you want your monitor to be, or do you want to go all out?
not that big

i think 17 will do

anyone could suggest intel?

many thanks
Alright, I would focus on the hardware of the computer it self. I haven't dealt with Intel CPUs for a while, so I wouldn't be able to help you out there.

So, good luck, $1000 is PLENTY for a gaming computer (mine sig rig cost $500 total). A word of advice, though. Remember the standoffs! I hope that saves you some grief.
Intel Core i7 920
Gigabyte GA x58 ud3r 1.6x58 DDR3 Mobo
G SKill 6gb (3 x 2gB) p1 ddr3 pc312800 (1600 )mhz
xfx gtx285 pcie 1G ddr3
PSU Corsair 750Watts
Cooler Master 932 Full Tower
WD Caviar Black hdd 1tb

needed? Cooler Master v8???

this would be around 1200+ usd??

is this build good?

thanks

i7 is really good by all means, but I think you would okay for a while with the i5 and save a few bucks for OS, keyboard, etc.... And Intel makes some of the best CPU's and AMD is for the budget minded consumer but are good none the less.

BTW Antec PSU's are very stable in my opinion

Yeah that's is pretty much the best of the best you got there and you'll be futureproof aswell.
But for gaming I'd rather pick an AMD Phenom X4 955 or 965 and an ATi Radeon HD 5850 instead of the GTX 285, the 5850 is better and you'll save money.

AMD and ATi is best for gaming purpose IMO (ironic that I've got a Intel/Nvidia rig
) as it's way cheaper than Intel and Nvidia while being just as powerful (just look at the 5870, it has the same price tag as a GTX 285 but is way better) with great overclocking opportunities

Most games doesn't support more than two cores or multithreading anyway.. So no need to buy an i7 unless you work alot with video encoding, benchmarking etc.

Even so, there's nothing wrong with having more then 2 cores. I remember when I went from my old P4 to my sig rig, it was a noticable difference with how the computer acted over all with dual cores... what a segway!

you cannot fit in a 5850 with an i5 build, and a monitor as well, for that little.

If you are planning on overclocking get the Cooler Master V8 (getting it for X-MAS
). If you don't want to overclock (perfectly normal don't worry), don't get the Cooler Master v8.
