I had an MSI gd-45 for a day a couple weeks ago, can't really compare the 2 since I haven't tried the gd-65.
But the faults I had with the gd-45 are that, although it says 'true pci-e 2.0 sli & xfire' right on the board it did not support sli, & I was unimpressed with the voltage options in the bios at that time. Vcore adjustable to max 1.5V (fail for OCing), and adjustable PCH & dram voltages, that was it, no VTT to play with memory clocks.
Some things may have changed with BIOS updates, but couldn't find a new beta bios at the time.
