Getting a PS3

Killzone 2 for sure. Resistance 2 has good multiplayer too. Both shooters.

And no, it doesn't come with an HDMI cable, I just bought one myself. What's lame is that it only comes with red/white/yellow cables, not even component.

You'll love it! I love my PS3. I don't see the point in an xbox360 if you have a gaming PC. I just use an xbox360 wireless controller on my PC when I feel the need.

As stated above, no it doesn't come with an HDMI cable, but don't go out and buy a super expensive HDMI cable! Cable is cable, and $100 HDMI cables are a joke! It's a length of wires and two connectors...that's it...nothing fancy about it.

I got one made by Nyko for $25 from MicroCenter. You can get them off of NewEgg for like $10. I think Wal-Mart has them for like $20. An HDMI cable is an HDMI cable, you don't have to get it from Gamestop, and it doesn't have to specifically say PS3 on it.

Buy a PS3, get 1 game for free (LittleBigPlanet or KillZone 2 or MLB)

I bought my HDMi cable @ the grocery store electronics department for $10. They have a kit that had an HDMi and an optical cable for the same price on clearance as well, I bought the one with the optical just cause lol.

LITTLE BIG PLANET, and if you havent played it, uncharted. Its the only game in my life ive played 4 times.

For games I am going to say that if you have a killer LCD TV get Killzone2. I have never seen a game that looked this good nor played this well. Second game would be Bioshock if you haven't played it.

If you have a sound system that supports optical you should get a optical cable as well.

ive owned both, dont buy it! the games are not as great as PS3 boys would say! and Blu-ray... umm yippee? 30$ a DVD holy sh... And the controllers break easy verry easy...

If you were a Metal Gear fan back in the day, you definitely should get Metal Gear Solid 4. Completes the whole series and there's also a DLC that explains everything that happened before and during MGS4. Also, some of the contents that contains MSG4 are locked in that DLC so that it doesn't become a spoiler. The DLC isn't a game. More like a Wikipedia.

Little Big Planet is on sale right now and I would highly suggest grabbing it from Go Gamers because everywhere else, it's $60 new, $50 used, and $35-$40 from 3rd party. This game offers loads of fun.

Another game would be Killzone 2 that was just released a few weeks ago. Played the demo and thought it was amazing for a PS3 game. Very action packed but without a keyboard and mouse support, it's quite difficult (if you're a full blown PC FPS gamer).

lol, every ps3 comes with HDMI, you have to get WAW, LBP, and a few others. Be very very careful about buying that little big planet above, its locked for PAL region.

And MGS4 is not really that fun and addicting, cod waw is addicting. There new map pack for it comes out on Thursday.

PS3 does not come with HDMI
I have the 80gb; it doesnt come with a optical audio wire either.
If you have a good receiver, you dont need the optical wire..
PS3 can output all but DTS-Master Audio via HDMI Bitstream. DTS Master Audio is decoded on the PS3 and output PCM through the HDMI.
