Getting Dell XPS M1530 Soon

Hey, everyone. I'm thinking about getting a Dell XPD M1530 soon. I'm customizing it using the Dell system builder to make it exactly how I was it, of course. I just have a few questions about a some choices I have to make before buying the laptop. Here they are (this computer will be used for regular use and light gaming --- Counter-Strike: Source, other Valve games, Live For Speed, etc.):

1) I'm thinking of upgrading from the Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 to the Intel Core 2 Duo T8100. Do you think this will do the job, or should I go higher?

2) I'm thinking of upgrading from the 32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium to the 64-bit Windows Vista Home Premium so I can also upgrade to 4gb of memory. Is this a good upgrade?

3) I'm thinking of upgrading from the standard glossy wide screen 15.4" LCD (1280x800) and 2.0 MP camera to the full high definition, glossy wide screen 15.4" LCD (1920x1200) and 2.0 MP camera. Is this upgrade worth it?

4) I'm also upgrading to 4gb of memory, a 7200RPM 320gb hard drive, and a 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT. Any input on these upgrades?

Thanks for any help!

I would look for a different laptop. First of all, it's only available with a 8600m gt. Secondly, you'll be using the warranty every year because it overheats the 8600, which then dies. Ya 2 times for my sister in the past 2 years.
Sounds almost exactly like my setup. I picked up my XPS M1530 with all the specs you listed, with the exception of the CPU and screen. I got the T8300 and the 1440 x 900 screen. It is the best screen I have ever had on a laptop (I got the LG screen).

I picked up mine for $710 at Dell Outlet (same warranty):

I only see a pink one, but they update daily.

This has been fixed with the new boards. But I have to agree with you, for the price, you can pick up a newer laptop:

I think Mr. derp's input should be taken into consideration.

I think eric's advice is also hard to pass on. It's a lot of bang for the buck.

What is your budget and what about the XPS has you liking so much? I mean if you want any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot, guys. All is being taken into consideration.

Uhm, I've asked for recommendations as far as laptops go a few months ago and I got some alright suggestions. My sister recently got a M1530 and it is awesome. It runs very smooth, it's very clean, and it is the perfect design for my taste. I just love it. I'm going to try to configure it as well as I can.

Thanks again!
