He only has a 400w psu in he case, 1 HDD, Pentium D 2.8Ghz and 1 dvd drive.<br>
Will he be able to run the card on this psu ?

Depends on the amps his PSU 12V+ rail has.<br>
I'm guessing 18A or greater should be fine for an X1600.

thats what i was going to say it doesnt matter if u had a 1000W psu if u only have a 10A 12v rail its useless
