Hi, I have a friend who's looking for an ATI graphics card with minimum of 1GB VRAM for 100 bucks or less shipped (in America) Right now he's looking at this:

I don't think he wants used either.

Check out NEWEGG.COM the cheapest place in the states for new pc parts.
May I ask why he wants a 1GB card?

For under $100, you could get a HD4830 or a 9800gt (both 512MB cards) and either would blow a 1GB HD4670 out of the water. Even though it's a Nvidia card, the 9800gt would be your best choice in this price range.

He maybe thinking 1g is better than 512mb. I have a HD4870 512mb lying around the house that kills the HD4670 1g card.

Well that's because you're comparing a 4870 to a 4670, they're not even in the same class.

True that, but saying that 1g is not alway better than 512mb.

Try this one, it says it has 640 stream processors, which is odd because I didn't know they made 4670's with more than 320. If its correct its a great price for it. I looked at the man. page but couldn't find any info on the stream processors.

Newegg is normally cheap and has great deals now and then. I'd recommend a 4870. It's a bit more than 100 bucks but the thing is a beast.

I think 4850 will do fine... I mean it can run games smoothly pretty much

Yes, but if he plans on playing Crysis or any game coming out in the near future those few extra fps wouldn't hurt. I guess getting the 4850 wouldn't be bad though. Does he have a CrossFire ready board?

Get a used 4850. Make sure you get the box and he'll never know the difference >.>
