Hi all,
I have a friend who has a problem with World of Tanks on his PC that is related to his onboard graphics card.
The PC is an ASRock G31-M GS with a Celeron E3300.
Temps are fine
He has an old emachines lying around with an ATI X300SE PCI-E 128Mb
Would I be able to stick the X300SE into the ASRock based PC? would it make much of a difference?

Just tell him to get a new card for like $40. It might work if you read the schema on the board to see if it will accept PCIE, but I would just get him one of those HTPC graphic cards and he'll be more then happy.

Getting new card is not an option at the moment. I just want to know if the X300SE will work and the risk, because I do not want to brick the only system he has.

the Celeron E3300 is 2.5 ghz so it passes the minimum required 2.0 ghz

but the gpu requirement is GeForce 6800 / ATI Radeon X1600 so an onboard or X300 wont cut it even if they are shader 3.0

Tell him to get either a used 7800GT or 8600GT, they should cost less than 30$ now.
If he wants brand new and a bit more powerful then get an HD3650 or 9500GT, dont get faster cards than that because it will be severely bottlenecked by the celeron.
