Video 4: Lampert shows off some of the amazing musical score for Skyrim, composed by series mainstay Jeremy Soule. Can you hear the original Elder Scrolls theme as it weaves its way into the new music?

Lol! The first screen of Video 4 shows the Techno Viking on their music sheet! Gives me hope for this game...

Although I'm doubtful Morrowind's soundtrack could EVER be met, let alone surpassed.

Edit: just listened. It definitely does not surpass Morrowind

Viking grunts and loud brass instruments are a bit too ridiculous and crude for Jeremy Soule. I guess it sounds more inventive than Oblivion's version though.

Seriously? I thought the music was epic. This is a different game from Morrowind. Why do you want it to be more of the same? Not to mention the music suits the game and it's landscape.

I think it suits Skyrim. But it's probably not the final version of theme, just one tailored to the teaser.

edit: lol bad video nvm.

I thought is was pretty cool. The vocal part adds a lot to it, and the transition into the chorus is just epic.

Does anyone else get a lot of flash player crashes on that page? If so, here's those videos on Youtube:

edit: Can anyone identify what software he's using? Doesn't look like Pro Tools or Sonar, and I'm always interested when people deviate from the industry standard.

It might be Cubase or Nuendo.

Another update:
Dragon Shouts
Quote:
However, Skyrim introduces something new into the gameplay mix: dragon shouts. This special new set of powers stand apart from the existing magic system, offering a broad range of powerful effects. The ability to attain these abilities is unique to your hero in the world, and the path to attaining them is a quest in itself within the larger tale that unfolds over the course of the game. Dragon shouts give the player the same overwhelming might that drives the resurgent dragon population, and the same source of power that launched the last line of emperors.

Deffo looks like cubase to me (which is, incidentally, one of the industry-standards (the others being ProTools and Logic) )
