Gigabyte motherboard getting stuck at detecing devices

Bought a Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2 to upgrade one of my computer. Running a brisbane 5200 on it. Occassionally, I noticed that when I turn on the computer, it will say Detecting IDE devices and stay there. If I hit DEL button to go to BIOS, it will say 'prepare to load setup...' and stay there. If I turn off the computer and turn it back on, it goes past all that and runs fine. I am not sure what is the issue. I am dowloading new drivers right now from Gigabyte to try it on and see what happens. But wondering if you guys can give some insight in the mean time.

Processor - 2.7Ghz Brisbane 5200
RAM - Single 2G stick
Windows XP SP2
420W power supply
Geforce 8800 GT (stock clocks)

Mine did this for a while before I updated the BIOS. It is some kind of corruption.
