Gigabyte P35 board fried? Help please

So I was just using my PC as normal, plugged in my camera to get some pictures in and once I plugged in my USB cable, the PC restarted. Now I just sit at the GB boot screen, no beeps, no lights, nothing. Just the initial boot screen (press Fx to go...). Tried taking out the battery, nothing. Everything is working, but nothing is...

Mobo is gone?

Tried unplugging the power entierly for a minute and then tried booting again?

The cable or USB port could possibly have been bad so it shoret you're system causing it to reboot..

I wonder if something shorted when you plugged in your camera. Is it possible to emit static discharge while connecting things like this? You would think it wouldn't since you are grounded when you connect devices.

If its not your mobo then the next likely culprit is the PSU. Hope you can get it fixed

I plugged in the camera literally 1min beforehand and nothing happened. Tried taking the power, battery, harddrives and ram out. I have a picture on the screen and don't have any of the LED signs on my 4850.

This is... wierd...

The restart thing happened a couple times before, but never really paid attention to it. It was from the CM690 USB Port.
Wow, I unplugged everything but me stupid Sansa... That was causing it (and I have it plugged in every night).

Works now. Wow that was a scare.
Lol.. good to hear it's working!

Things like this can really scare.. but it's always a good feeling when you figure out it really wasn't anything!

Still don't really understand why my USB ports cause my PC to restart. One time it was from my CM690 ports, this time it was from the back of the MoBo. Hmm... Usually happens when I plug in a USB device that is hooked into a power source.
Glad you got it fixed
Could be a bad USB power rail on your PSU?

Any way I could test it short of putting powered on devices in my PC. I always have 3-4 USB devices plugged in. Then I usually throw my PSP and Sansa on there too. Rarely, it restarts my PC when I plug them in while connected to a power source - mostly not though. Same with the camera I guess.

Hmm can you take a look at the PSU USB Rail Amp rating for me?
Perhaps the USB devices actually overloads the rail they're getting power from causing you're computer to restart..

well it sounded like it was still posting, which is generally a good sign. Glad to hear the issue was resolved, but I would worry too much about things like this unless you get a failed post, or no display. If you can get into the bios, chances are your problem is fixable

Seconded.

There is no 'PSU rail for USB'. Possibly a bad driver/mobo, or a PSU that is somehow 100% loaded, whether it should be or not.

Well, I couldn't get into BIOS. It locked up at the splash screen. Then I noticed my Sansa was still plugged into my PC after unplugging everything else one by one. Took out the Sansa on it booted like nothing happened.

So weird since I charge my Sansa in my PC every night. I guess the camera caused it to reboot (which happens rarely but still does) and then since I left my Sansa on, it kept locking up my PC right as I turned it on.

And 520HX have 40a.
