Anyone else every heard of this? A friend of mine was telling me a bit about it and I think I might give it a try here some time.<br />

</td>
</tr>
</table>
</div><div style="margin:20px; margin-top:5px; ">
<div class="smallfont" style="margin-bottom:2px">Quote:</div>
<table cellpadding="6" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="99%">

<td class="alt2" style="border:1px inset">

Instead of having parts of a program thrown at /usr/bin, other parts at /etc and yet more parts thrown at /usr/share/something/or/another, each program gets its own directory tree, keeping them all neatly separated and allowing you to see everything that's installed in the system and which files belong to which programs in a simple and obvious way.

What do you guys think about this? Like it or no?

<As offtopic as possible> Hobo, your avatar background colour was annoying me so I copied it into paint (no photoshop) and edited the pixels individually. Don't ask why, its better than geography coursework lol. <br />

Thats odd, maybe its what happens when you save something from imageshack or something. To fix it edit it in paint and cut off the white line around the outside by shortening the edges slightly.

seems like a good way to simplify things but whne you wanted to install a regular pakcage it would be increadibly confused<br />
<br />
EDIT: <a href="http://www.x-lunix.com/images/images_big/GoboLinux_screen.jpg" target="_blank">Screenshot</a>

</div>Yeah I thought it would be messed up if you configured something from source, but they say it'll work fine. Seems like a nice way to keep things organized.

IMO true. That why I don't use Package managers much, I still like compiling stuff on my own. Its just that the pre-compiled stuff is more popular with noobs b/c it appears easier. It is in some areas, Emerge pwns. I still like, make install clean, though.

I agree, I might have to take a look at this one.<br><br>
And Hobo, I agree with you again on the compiling/decompiling. Emerge is a great thing, and is not much harder than package management at all.

Well if anyone want to try it get the RC1 013 release. The 012 release kept getting errors at the mounting drives part in boot, but 013 release went without a problem.
