Good 600w PSU for my rig?

Hey, sleuthing the internet led me to believe that my ultra x-finity 500w psu won't be enough.
It has 34A over 2 12v rails but most still recommend upgrading

Here is my upcoming rig
CPU: Athlon x2 4200+ Windsor 90nm
Ram: 2 x 1gb DDR2 PC2-4300(266mhz) infineon ram (will upgrade eventually)
MoBo: ASUS M2R32-MVP (deluxe if they ever release it)
GPU: Crossfire Reference x1950 pro's
HDD: Raid 0 500gb (2x250gb)

Case:
Antec P182
Cpu Cooling: Zalman CNPS9500 AM2

I Hope to be able to overclock both the CPU and GPU's,

What is a good PSU that would power this, and possible upgrades
(I'm looking to spend $100 max)

Personally I like the Corsair 620HX (likely to be my next PSU)

Did you check out the which PSU to buy FAQ yet?

ocz all the way...pick up a 600 or 700 watt gameXstream...i would go 700 just cause if you upgrade you don't want to fall short lol

it's waaaaaaay over your budget, but the PSU in my sig is fantastic. it's super fantastic. i can tell by your case and CPU cooler that you appreciate a quiet computer. my Zalman PSU has a combined 64 Amps on the +12V rails and is utterly silent. it's expensive though.

Great PSU

SLI ready and everything. I recommend it.

Go for the Corsair. It's over your budget but go for it, it's one of the best you can get.
Well i guess i could spend more than 100 if the power suppily will last me a while. so after reading a couple of reviews it's between:

OCZ GameXstream 700w
Pros: 18A on all 4 12v rails, no drops under load, long cords, about $15 less, cool running, pretty quiet.
Cons: None

Corsair 620HX
Pros: 18A on all 3 12v rails, no drops under load, modular cables, very quiet
Cons: None

Both seem pretty good, but i'm leaning towards the OCZ, because the p182 has a compartment on the back side of the motherboad to route your cables, and i know for sure that the cords are long on this one. But then again...the 620HX has been shown to outperform most PSU's, anyone hear anything bad about either?, or have any reason for me to go one way or the other?
Thanks.

An excerpt from the Johnny Guru review of the GameXstream

Quote:
By test 6, the ripple on 12V1 and 12V2 had exceeded 150mV.

ATX specification has an "allowance" for 120mV. Mind you, test 6 was very stressful, pushing the power supply to it's limits, but it doesn't change the fact that the ripple exceeded spec and this is the first power supply to date I have had do this.

What's wrong with too much ripple? Well, if the voltage fluctuates too erratically, it can over work other regulators used to provide Vcore to the CPU, GPU, etc.

A representative of OCZ did find my findings concerning and asked that I return the unit for an exchange. I did so, and in the interim I obtained an FSP Epsilon 600W. The 600W version of the power supply the OCZ GameXstream is based on. In testing that unit, I found a good deal of ripple as well. When a brand new GameXstream was finally returned to me, I immediately plugged it in and found the same results as the first sample.

Fortunately, it is very unlikely any of us will have one of these power supplies at or above 400W, at least for any considerable period of time,
The last paragraph is perhaps the most important. If you're planning on using this PSU long term, it might be a good idea to go with the Corsair HX.

I really love the modular cables and couldn't do without them.

Has anyone used psu wattage calculators that are on the net?, eXtreme outervision predicts that my system will pull 547W at full load (including overclocks) http://www.extreme.outervision.com/p...ulatorlite.jsp is this accurate? because according to this, in 3 years a 620w psu won't be able to power my system, let alone any upgrades. this makes me want to go higher than 620/700w but is it really necessary???
