alright fellas back for another question for you since I got into oc'ing
smile.gif
Im fully addicted and have been messing with my 680i and q6700 and havent been able to get much of anything past my sig overclock... nothing stable anyways... have gotten it to boot to 3.8/3.9/4.0ghz but cant do much and it bugging me so while Im still building my i7 build what is a good 775 board to get high overclocks with? looking to pick up a duo to mess with too
smile.gif

775 socket
only needs 1 PCIe x16 2.0 slot
Core 2 Quad / Core 2 Extreme / Core 2 Duo
DDR2/3 doesnt matter but prefer ddr2 unless I'll get better overclocks with ddr3
$50-$125 is what im looking to spend

thanks in advance

Gigabyte EP45 UD3P (UD3R has 1 PCIE x16 slot) for pushing a Quad over 450MHz FSB

P5Q Premium/Deluxe/E models for pushing Quads over 450MHz FSB mark

P5Q Pro/Pro TURBO have 2 PCIE x16 slots but limited to around 450MHz FSB with a Quad (Prime95 LARGE FFT stable for at least 6h)(with C2Duo easily hits ove up to 600MHz FSB)..

P5Q TURBO/P5QD TURBO models has only 1 PCIE x16 slot and also 450MHz FSB limited with a Quad (with C2Duo easily hits ove 500MHz FSB)..

All mobos have P45 chipset an DDR2 only..

I would racommend them for every LGA 775 chip..

For what,OC on LN2 or normal usage?

For C2D and below P5Q TURBO or P5QD TURBO would do just fine as they can hit very high FSB (500+ easy)..

Also with LN2 OC on older CPUs they can give Vcore up to 2.1V..

EP45 UD3 mobos with Pentiums and Celerons have locked Vcore up to 1.4V so I would not recommend them for OC with LN2 or DICE..

Then regarding of FSB freq any of those mobos would do the job..

But you need mobo that can deliver high Vcore..

My P5Q Pro can put up to 2.1V Vcore (when you use Vcore jumper) and up to 1.7V straight from the box..

I think That P5QD TURBO would do the job as it can also deliver HIGH FSB and Vcore up to 2.1V..
