everybodys startup time will be different, for me its a while because my desktop is nearly full of icons and different programs installed. I would have close to 200 icons on screen.

It can also be impacted by RAID cards, etc... So depending on system, that could be great.

I have a Transmeta system that posts into XP Home in 18 seconds. But I have a server that I just rebooted that takes about 2 minutes and 30 seconds for SCSI spins..

There are really two points of boot time - Post and Windows (or Linux, whatever.)

Generally, I would say that time is pretty good.

Times, however, can only really be discussed by breaking down those two different timing sections. If I have two external SCSI controller cards, I will have an ass long post - but maybe my Windows 2003 boot is silly fast. Or maybe I have loaded my system with crap and have a fast post and long Window boot. And so forth
