Good Value Laptop?

400 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  codyh
Heya everyone,

I'm looking for a good laptop for college. In addition to college work I want it to have a dedicated graphics chip that can run Source quality games at least at Medium settings. I'm not asking for a Crysis killer, just a overall good computer. I also want it to have a Core 2 type processor (T6400 or higher.)

I'm not willing to pay more than $800 (before tax.) I'm not that big on laptops (never had one actually,) so I have no idea where the best value or deals are on laptops.

Thanks,
Salt

On most laptops it is going to be hard to even get 3 hours of battery life out of it. Laptops draw more power with thier larger screens, dedicated graphics cards, and faster processors. A battery upgrade might be able to get you to where you would like to be or get another battery to get you the rest of the way through the day. Battery life in laptops however has never been very good.
