You can now embed Google Spreadsheets into your posts. This is beneficial for people that create, update, and maintain lists of data for others to view in the forums.

Publishing the Spreadsheet

The following is how to correctly publish the spreadsheet your working on so that you can include the link in your post.

1) First you need to go to File> "Publish to the web...":

2) Next, press the "Start publishing" button:

3) Now, under "Get a link to the published data", open the "Web page" dropdown menu and choose "HTML to embed in a page":

4) The box below should now contain the code you need. Copy it all.

5) To paste the HTML code, you need the HTML Source editor. To use this, you must first switch from the default BBCode editor to the Rich Text editor.

To do this, go to "My Profile"> "Edit Account Settings"> "Site Preferences". Change from BBCE to RTE:

6) Now, when you post, simply click the "Source" button on your editor:

7) Now, paste the code from point 4, and you're set. :thumb:

Note: You can change the width='xxx' height='xxx' options to suit your spreadsheet if you wish. :)

I'm guessing Jimi means this:

&w=100 (This is percent, substitute the 100 for any number from 1-100)
&h=600 (This is pixel height, substitute the 600 for any number from 1-whatever, but be reasonable)
&gid=0 (This is the sheet number, substitute the 0 for any sheet number)
&single=true (This will display a single sheet)

and just wants it clarified a bit more

Just post the link without the &output=html modifier.

i.e. (note: I am using the noparse BB tags so that the actual formatted links will appear rather than an embedded spreadsheet)

To adjust the width/height of the embedded frame you can use the &w=xxx and &h=xxx. The following will set the frame width to 100% of the post area and 600 pixels high.

Thanks Radodrill. That helps a ton.
I am always trying to get instant gratification and in the process I sometimes overlook important instructions. After your help I was able to re-read the OP instructions and it all makes better sense now.

Ben, nice guide - thank you so very much. Super admins - please super sticky this thing - it is very hard to find through regular navigation (non-search).

And one last helpful request. In the guide can you clarify:

Incidentally it's the first step - might be the guy above's issue.

1.)When looking to click publish as a webpage - that you must be doing so from inside the document itself on the far right there's the share button. The guide is not clear in that manner and I had some trouble myself looking all over the place - because I kept only seeing "find the link" - which was outside in the Google docs main page - it is not there, trust me - you can only do this action from within the document itself it seems.

Simply changing the guide text above the first step to:

Follow these steps from within the document itself! (Bold, red text - whatever).

Thanks, I'd rep you if I could!
