you can easily get 3.6 ghz on that processor, but isnt that motherboard single channeled for the memory if it is it will limit you some on the overclocking.

OCed your P4 to 4.0, eh? I've been trying to to that for a while with mine.

However, I've moved onto my Q6600 now =)

BUMP. Can you guys please help me I have nerver had a C2D I dont know how high to push them and crap.....

And now I have an unlocked multiplier (6-11) my p4 did not have that.

I dont want to push it to like 3 GHz just yet (just got it) I am just wondering what would be average on the E4500. also mine has the Conroe core not the Allendale
First you disable C1E, Eist, and speedstep if it has them. Then you can start raising your fsb slowly. Eventually it will blue screen and the you will have to back it off and then start upping voltages. Make sure you watch temps, and take it slow. You will also have to watch your ram speeds as well. I would say you could easily get 3ghz and maybe with better cooling up to 3.4ghz.
