GPU Folding Team Questions

351 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  StarryNite
The rules are a tad confusing:

1. If you form a team, can you use any CPU client along with the GPU client, or is it straight GPU folding?

2. When you do fold for a team, are you folding for OCN (using it's Team number), or are team folders folding under a different Team number?

3. If a team member has more than one rig, they can only use the WU produced by that one rig -- or are they barred from having any other?

lol I'm surprised this is an issue....I thought the rules page was pretty simple....

one gpu only, two people per team....that equals 2 gpus folding only. no cpu.

Don't be suprised, Question one isn't reallly the main point of confusion. Where the real concern, is what name to fold under...

e.g. I have a personal account "XxG3nexX", and I have a friend who folds under the name "GeneIsGreat" (I'm his hero) Anyway we decide to form a team, A gpu team to be specific. Do we create a new name that we would both use say "TeamGene" or would we fold under our own personal names for "TeamGene".

I know I'm probably making this more complicated than it reallly is, but any info would be helpful

When folks ask, apparently it's not "pretty simple". And because it's not "pretty simple" this whole folding process, OCN suffers with participants -- and it shows.

Secondly, this means no SMP or even uniprocessor CPU clients?

If so, that nixes that idea then.
